Teaching spatial visualization skills is a priority in Construction Management (CM) education. This session will address the use of 3-Dimensional models—often generated with Building Information Modeling software—to enhance the learning experience. Construction Management literature on the subject is both inconclusive and non- definitive on this topic, however, similar academic fields—such as engineering—have begun reporting limited success using them as teaching tools. Included in the discussion will be the educational possibilities and limitations of user-friendly, curriculum-specific Google SketchUp models.
