Our speaker this month will be Bert Vermeulen who teaches the freshman courses for undeclared Engineering majors. Bert's talk will focus on "Ideas for Motivating Students to Succeed in Difficult Classes". Bert will be discussing how effort impacts student performance in class and motivation impacts student effort. But what works best for generating the motivation needed to do well? In this session we will share and discuss ideas and experiences for motivating students and what the research shows.
