An Asset-Based Study of First Generation Student Experiences with Three Colorado Academic Libraries

Librarians at CSU, CU-Boulder, and the University of Northern Colorado conducted a study examining the academic experiences of first-generation college students in Colorado. We will share some of the results of this three-institution study to help reveal the role academic libraries play in supporting first-generation student success. The study gathered information about the complexity of students’ life contexts in order to better understand how to develop programs, services, and resources that effectively address first-generation college students’ needs.
