Description:
The workshop will focus on two novel active learning techniques. First, Dr. Tucker uses many demonstrations in Chemistry. She will feature an approach for active learning that moves demos up a notch from disengaged entertainment. Dr. Hyatt will feature an approach where a student volunteer receives prompts from the instructor and other students to complete an activity. Additionally, a “quiz” will demonstrate the use of free software for review of future/previous materials, low stakes assessment or review for exams.
