Assistive Technology: A Tool for "inclusion or exclusion" in Today's Technologically-based Classroom, Presenters: Jesse Hausler and Sherri Keller, Equal Opportunity & Diversity/ATRC

Presenter(s):
Sally Hibbitt
Description:
Each year our nation sees an increase in the number of students with disabilities entering programs of higher education. Many of these students benefit greatly from the use of assistive technology and course materials designed with accessibility in mind. This workshop will present case studies illustrating how assistive technology makes it possible for students with apparent and non-apparent disabilities to reach their educational goals. Demonstrations will show how faculty, through the “universal design” of course materials, can enhance the interaction between assistive technologies and classroom technologies.
