EXPLORING ACTS OF CLASSROOM DISRUPTIVENESS…..DID YOU REALLY JUST DO THAT?|
College of Natural Sciences MTI Luncheon

Presenter(s):
Melissa Emerson, Director Conflict Resolution & Student Conduct Services
Description:
Have you witnessed an increase of incivility in your classroom? If so, you are not alone. The heightened concern for safety on college campuses makes faculty and staff more conscious of disruptive, threatening, and concerning behaviors. Examples include: use of email, list-serves, or social media to verbally attack or slander classmates as well as bullying through the intentional isolation of colleagues on team projects. Conflicts within the classroom impact a student’s ability to learn and an instructor’s ability to teach. Join the Director of the Student Resolution Center and the Program Director of Academic Integrity as they team up to explore disruptive student behavior and strategies to effectively address classroom conflict.
