Problem-based Learning in Pre-Calculus and Calculus Mathematics

Description:
Numerous research studies support the notion that mathematics students achieve at significantly higher levels when they engage in collaborative, problem-based learning sessions in which they delve into the content at a much deeper conceptual level. The Mathematics Department is planning to implement this program next year in both Pre-Calculus and Calculus courses. In this session, we will briefly present the related research and cite concrete examples of work students engage in.
