Introduction to Writing AI Prompts
Description:
In this introductory session, participants will get hands-on practice in writing prompts for generative AI. We will explore beginner techniques for improving these prompts, including assigning roles, specifying output style, and few-shotting, a method that primes the AI chatbot with examples. After briefly discussing AI concepts and terminology, participants will work in small groups to utilize a generative AI tool to first create a text, such as an email, and then create a new resource, such as a recipe.
This session is meant to allow participants to explore generative AI and will not cover the serious ethical, professional, or educational issues of how and when using AI is appropriate.
Please make an account with an AI tool, such as a free ChatGPT account, before arriving, and please bring a laptop or other device capable of running this tool.
